Micro-cert in Community Paramedicine Care
Designed for part-time or casual Community Paramedics, this program is an accessible, research-based micro-certificate program designed to provide paramedics with the fundamentals of Community Paramedicine care. The micro-cert in Community Paramedicine Care bridges existing skills and experience with advanced chronic disease and psychosocial concepts, critical thinking and professional communication required to support full-time Community Paramedics and overall program goals in this growing field.
2023 tuition: $1750 (*current as of April 2023)
Certificate in Community Paramedicine Care
Students receive a certificate upon completion. Program includes asynchronous competency and research-based didactic lessons and one program coordinator guide to aid in supporting staff. Each student will receive an annual membership to the Community Paramedicine Hub community. One program coordinator membership will also be allocated.
2023 tuition: $2600/student (*current as of April 2023)
Advanced Certificate in Community Paramedicine Care
Students receive an advanced certificate upon completion. Program includes asynchronous competency and research-based didactic lessons, a skills program and a 240 hour clinical placement. Each student will receive an annual membership to the Community Paramedicine Hub community. One program coordinator membership will also be allocated. (Note: specific clinical placement sites are coordinated by the paramedic service).
2023 tuition: $3500/student (*current as of April 2023)
Community Paramedicine Refresher
Designed for services who have a combination of seasoned and new community paramedics. This program provides a comprehensive review of core concepts related to community including chronic disease management, assessments and pharmacology.
2023 tuition: $1900/student (*current as of April 2023)
Stand-alone skills & clinical program
Designed for services who have not yet developed their own skills program, this competency-based program structure includes instructor guides, skills sign-offs, resources and evaluations. (Note: instructors are not provided for this program, paramedic services are required to use their own expert instructor(s)).
2023 one-time cost: $2700 (*current as of April 2023)
In-house curriculum license and LMS
Designed for services who would like a flexible in-house program that is available to any staff or new CPs. This competency-based program structure includes all core CP courses (13 courses), 3 elective courses, and the skills & clinical programs which includes instructor guides, skills sign-offs, resources and evaluations. (Note: instructors are not provided for this program, paramedic services are required to use their own expert instructor(s)). This package also includes a one-year subscription to the Thinkific Learning Management System and full upload of all courses into the LMS (Ongoing LMS cost is approximately $1200/year. If the LMS is not required, please contact for license pricing). This option allows the paramedic service to assign and manage all courses to any staff. Note: All courses are updated with guidelines and standards current as of January 2024. Sections in each course that will require annual/occasional update will be flagged.
2023 one-time cost for teams <10 staff: $37, 650 (*current as of January 2024. Pricing for additional staff available). Option for single courses or min-course sets is available in February 2024

This annual membership platform is perfect for individuals and teams needing a library of up-to-date mini courses, case studies and resources to serve as their continuing education program. Learning options are engaging, relevant and easy to digest using small lessons & knowledge checks.

What are the prerequisites to enrol in this program?
At this time, enrolment is only open to students who are currently working as PCPs or ACPs for a paramedic service.
*We are currently accepting licensing applications from post-secondary institutions who would like to offer these programs
What credentials do the curriculum designers have?
Kayella holds diplomas as a PCP, ACP, Community Paramedic and aeromedical medicine. She holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from Queen's University and has over a decade of experience in senior leadership, instructional design, adult education and program management. She developed and coordinated the Community Paramedic program for a Northern Ontario paramedic service from the initial funding stage to a fully-operational program. Course contributors include experienced paramedics, registered nurses with relevant specialties, physicians, psychologists and other allied healthcare professionals. We have also partnered with a diverse group of organizations who have generously shared their expertise and resources as part of our course content. Are staff provided with learning content or are they required to source their own content based on case studies?
While case studies are used as one of many learning tools in this program, students will work through carefully curated learning content in the form of videos, interviews, podcasts, research papers, articles, best-practice guidelines and textbook readings in order to assimilate knowledge in each course. Students will receive required and recommended resources throughout the course allowing them to feel confident completing test-based evaluations. Students are evaluated throughout the course through knowledge checks, quizzes and exams and a final, cumulative case study presentation. Their time-on-task is spent learning and applying up-to-date research-based content that is relevant to their new roles
How long do students have to complete this program?
The length of time to complete the programs or courses depends on which program you select and how much time students are allotted for learning. Programs can be completed in as little as a few months, however they will have access for one year. Program coordinators will receive regular progress reports.
